Conservative Dentistry

Conservative dentistry focuses on restoring hard tooth tissues damaged by:

Caries

Trauma

Alterations in dental development, whether hereditary or not, make the enamel or dentine more fragile.

Caries treatment primarily removes decayed tissue from the cavity and replaces it with a filling. Therefore, the cavity must be shaped and cleaned in a way that is free of caries and prevents the appearance of new lesions.

Commonly known as “white filling”, composite is the most widely used material in conservative dentistry.

Steps involved in restoring a tooth

1. Local anaesthesia

2. Cleaning and shaping the cavity

3. Isolation of the operative field to protect the tooth being treated from the rest of the mouth.

4. Adhesive system

5. Placement of the composite

6. Polishing of the tooth and filling

In short, we prioritize conservative dental treatments that remove only the decayed tissue from your tooth while preserving its healthy parts.

We aim to conserve as much of the natural tooth structure as possible while restoring the affected area to optimal health, function, and aesthetics.
